In July 2017, the front portion of the New Jersey State House, including the Rotunda, was closed for renovations. This project is estimated to be completed in 2021. The work is being done by Preservation Design Partnership as contracted by the New Jersey Building Authority, with funding provided by the New Jersey Economic Development Authority. An overview of the project is available as well as photos of the initial work.
The Governor’s Office is temporarily located at 225 West State Street. Other Executive offices are located there as well, and at 33 West State Street.
There is still much to see on a State House tour, including the legislative chambers. State House tours begin in the Annex lobby.
